Plasma Saves Lives: Addressing the COVID-19 Pandemic

The Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA) represents the private sector manufacturers of plasma-derived and recombinant analog therapies, collectively known as plasma protein therapies and the collectors of source plasma used for fractionation. Below is a message received by the CHS from PPTA.

PPTA is pleased to share “Plasma Saves Lives: Addressing the COVID-19 Pandemic.” The Association’s work is continuously driven by our mission to ‘promote the availability of and access to safe and effective plasma protein therapies,’ but in 2020, this work has been somewhat different than our traditional efforts.

From ensuring the transport of critical goods across borders to conducting virtual IQPP inspections, the enclosed presentation is a compilation of many of the steps PPTA has taken to address COVID-19. This showcase was developed using Prezi, an online presentation building tool. If you would like more detailed guidance on how to navigate Prezi, a mini-tutorial is available here.

We hope you enjoy learning about the Association’s recent activities. PPTA is proud of the plasma industry’s essential role amid COVID-19 and will continue to meaningfully contribute on behalf of our members and in support of patients’ health.
