A chance to attend the WFH 2026 World Congress

Two distinct fellowships will be offered by the CHS to allow community members to attend the upcoming World Federation of Hemophilia World Congress taking place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from April 19-22, 2026. In both cases the deadline to apply is JANUARY 12, 2026.

KARTTIK SHAH YOUTH FELLOWSHIP
The CHS Karttik Shah Youth Fellowship was initiated in memory of Karttik Shah of Toronto, Ontario, in recognition of his commitment to hemophilia youth programming in Canada and abroad, and, in particular, for his participation over many years on the CHS Board of Directors and the World Federation of Hemophilia Youth Committee. In order to promote the development of its future leaders, the CHS will offer one or more fellowships to enable Canadian youth who are committed to long-term involvement in the CHS the WFH 2026 World Congress.

RONALD E. GEORGE CONGRESS FELLOWSHIP

The Dr. Ronald E. George Fellowship was initiated and is funded in his memory by his widow Leni, a long-time volunteer with the CHS at all levels. This fellowship was set up to support one parent of a child with hemophilia to attend the WFH World Congress. Both Ronald and Leni were given an opportunity to attend the Congress as parents with a son with hemophilia and found it to be one of their most enriching experiences. For this reason, Leni wishes this opportunity to be part of her husband’s legacy.

The CHS will offer one fellowship to enable one parent of a child with hemophilia who is committed to long-term involvement in the CHS to attend in person the WFH 2026 World Congress.
